Billie
Steele Collection -- Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hackett, Rockwood Lodge, Page
1
Mrs.
Billie Steele was the sister of the late Helen Dawe who assembled the
Helen Dawe Collection in the Sechelt Community Archives. Mrs. Steele's
records were collected independently of Helen's records and were housed
with the Helen Dawe Collection at Mrs. Steele's house after the death
of Helen in 1983. The majority of records of both collections were transferred
to the Sechelt Public Library in 1996, the remainder in 1998. Mr. and
Mrs. Steele lived and raised their family in Sechelt. She had the book
'Helen Dawe's Sechelt' published in 1990. It used information and photographs
from the Helen Dawe Collection and is a fitting tribute to her sister's
life's work.
