 Edward
and Iris Kohuch Collection -- Gilmore brothers, Doriston, Page 8 Edward
Kohuch, the executor of George Gilmore's estate, and his wife Iris came
to Sechelt in the early 1960s to run an appliance repair business. They
became friends with George Gilmore of Doriston who, with his parents
and brother Don, came to homestead in Doriston on the west side of Sechelt
Inlet in 1934 from near Barhead, Alberta. The brothers logged and fished
up and down the West Coast for fifty-four years, returning to Doriston
whenever possible. There George built boats and Don an organ. George
moved to Greenecourt and Don to a heated house in Saltery Bay in the
early 1990s. The photographs were placed in the archives in 2000 as
there are no known Gilmore relatives. 1
