                1907-1908 -- Standing on the steps of the Whitaker house are left-right 
                Sister ?, Sister Theresine, Principal of Sechelt Indian Band boarding 
                school, Edith May Von Alvensleben, wife of Count Von Alvensleben 
                (see photo 6.7.287) and two unnamed sisters. Seated are Evelyn 
                Haslett and on the right her sister Muriel Whitaker sisters of 
                Sechelt pioneer entrepreneur Herbert Whitaker.  Photographer

                1907 -- German Count Gustav Von Alvensleben married British Columbian 
                Edith Westcott in 1907. Through the Count's real estate agency 
                Herbert Whitaker sold his Sechelt holdings to a German syndicate 
                in 1913. The Von Alvenslebens fled to the USA in 1914 where he 
                was interred in 1917 and died in Seattle in 1965.  Image

                -- David Wallbridge in front of Quinte Cottage. The Wallbridge 
                family; father and mother David and Bessie and their children 
                Grace, Henry and Eleanor summered in Sechelt from circa 1919 to 
                1940. They rented cottage #8 then built their own summer home 
                'Quinte Cottage' on Trail Bay in 1926-1927.  Photographer
