Photographs are of bridges, cottages, hotels, stores and private houses in Sechelt and District, many being identified buildings on Sechelt's waterfront. Excellent photos of Sechelt's first hotel, and the 1914 fire which destroyed it, Sechelt's second hotel and general store and wharf. Photographs also of Sechelt Inn, originally W`itaker's house (Vee de L'Eau or the Beach House), which burned in 1964, St. Hilda#s Anglican Church, and St. Mary's HOspital (in Garden Baq); views of Sechelt's streets: the Boulevard, Cowrie Street, Inlet Avenue, Shorncliffe Avenue, and Rockwood Lodge and cottage, Wharf Street and Wakebield Inn in West Sechelt. Also in this Sub-Series are photographs of Whitaker's house at2   3   4   5

1958 -- Centennial Flag Raising Ceremonies at Sechelt Municipal Hall

On the left side of the porch is Sechelt Mayor, Mrs. Christine Johnston holding three scrolls to present to Mary Julius and pioneers T. J. Cook and Isobel Whitaker Gilbert. On her right is ?, Rev. H.U. Oswald, Anglican Church Canon, Commissioner and Centennial Chair Captain Sam Dawe, Mrs. Ada Dawe in the doorway, ?, ?, the little girl is probably ribbon cutter Julie Steele with Alec Lamb on her right behind Betty Williams with her Girl Guides and Brownies. Boy Scout troop with Cpl. Tick Payne and Sechelt School band with Mr. Gerry Fahrni are in the foreground and a group of Sechelt Indian boys stand with Sisters of the Child Jesus to the left of the Municipal Hall.

1958 -- Centennial Flag Raising Ceremonies at Sechelt Municipal Hall

Bill Smith, General Montgomery's `runner,' (closest to flag pole) has just raised the flag. Rev. Ernest Jessop (Baptist Minister) is leaving the pole after giving the blessing. Middle right is the Indian choir from the residential school.
