The Whitaker family home above Trail Bay beach, Sechelt was built in 1905-1906. It became Sechelt Inn after the Union Steamship Company purchased Herbert Whitaker's businesses in 1926. It was partially destroyed by fire in 1963 and completely removed in 1964. The Driftwood Inn stands today on the site.
