1950 -- May Day celebrations held in the Union Steamship Company park on the west side of Wharf Avenue. May Queen, Mary Parker, and her attendants with a guard of honour from the North Vancouver sea cadets. May Queen's escort was Al Jackson owner of Jackson's Logg'ng and a prominent citizen of Sechelt.
