at the McQuarrie home "Tranquil Tara" on the west side of Porpoise Bay.
The McQuarrie family came in 1912 from Maine to Sechelt where father Franklin
worked as a logger, road foreman and school trustee. His son, Arnold McQuarrie,
worked for Bert Whitaker as a store clerk and wagon driver then with the
whole family moved to Powell River around 1917. The present house is still
called "Tranquil Tara."
