-- A photograph of Joseph Gregson (1876-1971) who logged in and around
Vancouver and on the Sunshine Coast before he retired to Greene Court
in Sechelt in 1965. He served in the Boer War in South Africa and came
to British Columbia in 1903. He and two partners established a brick yard
at Storm Bay in Sechelt Inlet from 1904-1906, later he ran a donkey engine
at Gray Creek in the Inlet and worked as an engineer at other logging
camps on the Sunshine Coast and in the Vancouver area. His first job was
to clear a lot on the south east corner of Granville and Robson Streets.
He corresponded with Vancouver City archivist Major Matthews.
