-- Sechelt's first hotel, built by Herbert Whitaker in 1899, with a west
wing added in the early 1900s, burned down in 1914. The small building
behind on the right was the heating plant. The two storey house in the
trees was the home of H.J. Haslett and his wife Evelyn, one of Herbert
Whitaker's sisters.
