early
1900s -- The keel of the S.S. Comox was laid in 1891 and the ship assembled
at Coal Harbour, Vancouver for the Union Steamship Company. She served
the USS until 1919. In the early 1890s she anchored in Trail Bay off Sechelt
and the passengers were rowed ashore in small boats until Herbert Whitaker
built a wharf in the mid 1890s.
