-- Sam Dawe served as mate on the steam tug Commodore photographed here
lying off Ketchican, Alaska and in Vancouver. It was built in 1907 and
towed barges and log booms until it sank in 1955 in Welcome Pass with
no loss of life. After being owned by several towing companies it was
renamed Commodore Straits in 1949 when bought by the Straits Towing and
Salvage Company.
