The Sechelt Community Archives historical photographs collection contains more than the 5,000 images that document the people, events, and places of the village of Sechelt and the Sunshine Coast from the late 1800s to modern times.

Images are subject to the Copyright Act of Canada. They are provided on this website for research purposes only. Re-use requires written permission and may be subject to fees.

Higher resolution reproductions of these photographs in both print and digital form may be available for purchase and use according to specific terms and conditions. Fees and prices vary according to usage and type of reproduction. Photograph reproduction orders cannot be processed until a signed Conditions of Use Agreement has been received by the Sechelt Community Archives.

Terms and Conditions

Permission

In purchasing a print or digital image, the researcher obtains permission for personal use only. Permission is not granted for further reproduction or for use other than that specified in the original photograph order.

Publication Credits

We require that all Sechelt Community Archives photographs that are published include a credit as to the source of the photograph as in the following example: "Sechelt Community Archives, Photograph #6.5.128. Photo courtesy (name as provided in photo description)."

Commercial Use Fee

Commercial use of reproductions from the Archives may be arranged provided that a written proposal is submitted to the Community Archivist stating details of the intended commercial use and specific identification of the materials involved. The Sechelt Community Archives reserves the right to refuse permission as well as the right to charge commercial use permission fees.
